We launched ShopForMyCause.com two years ago as a way for your organization to make some money when your members purchase merchandise online from participating retailers. For a variety of reasons, ShopForMyCause.com has not been an effective fundraiser.
On top of a historically bad economic recession, an increasing number of retailers who have cancelled/discontinued their affiliate marketing programs in certain states due to sales tax Nexus. This is when the state imposes sales tax on internet retailers with a "presence" in their state, which includes affiliate marketing sites like ShopForMyCause.com. These cancellations have decreased the number of available retailers on the site, which has had a negative impact on purchases and commission amounts to our customers.
